About Our Firm

Reis & Kirkland is a boutique or specialty law practice.

We represent clients in medical malpractice claims, focusing our time, attention, and resources on obtaining successful results for them.

When we accept your case we employ our skills, experience and judgment to advocate for you through every step in the legal process—from drafting complaints to conducting discovery to mediating and/or trying your case.

We conclude our representation with our clients feeling that they mattered to us, that we heard and voiced their stories, and that we worked diligently to protect their interests.

What to expect

It’s our job to give voice to people who have been injured and what ultimately happens in a mediation or a courtroom but there are many steps leading up to that. The prospective client will first meet us through a phone call where we will elicit information about the potential claim.

  • If we decide to investigate, we help the client gather medical records and review and discuss them with the client.

  • If the case merits an expert review we hire an expert(s) to give us an opinion about whether the provider was negligent and whether that negligence caused the claim injury.

  • If we can support the claim with expert testimony and we believe bringing a claim looks economically viable we file suit. That begins a process of discovery including depositions of the defendant providers, the clients and the experts. Most claims settle at mediation. Others are tried to a jury.

“I will always remember everything you have done for us and all the time and effort you put into our case. …Your kindness and genuine personality are very much appreciated.”
